Happy Valentine's Day!!!

To everyone and anyone, Happy Valentine's Day. Dont Forget too treat your partners to lot's of presents and snog's. But dont forget 'keep your eye upon Jesus'. It's so easy to slip up and backslide, but just always remember when temptation comes knocking on your door look straight up to the lord for strength. And for my sweet Lily; I love you with all my heart and always will xxx

My Testimony (Short)

Heres a short version of my testimony (my story of how I oung my faith):

From being born into a life of epilepsy and family troubles I took to drugs and drink when I was twelve. Then Buddhism sneaked its way into my life, and everything went crashing down. Amazingly when I got to fifteen somehow I just stopped the drugs and Buddhism, even though I was deeply into both something helped me. Sadly my epilepsy got worse and I had to come out of schooling and tried to commit suicide, with all this happening a vicar from a local church suggested an ALPHA course. During the ALPHA I met two lovely people Sue and David Tattersall who helped me to find Christ. During the ALPHA Course the lord spoke to me with a passage: Joel 2:25-So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust and the chewing locust, my great army which I sent among you. Just as the lord said, in a matter of weeks he brought me to ELIM where I stood praising his name, meeting and talking to wonderful people and most of all finding my saviour the lord Jesus and Feeling the presence of the holy spirit! A few months later I was baptized to make a public declaration for my love and faith in Jesus, now my path in life is to become a minister of Gods word and help as many people as I can. So I just Thank all the lovely people from ELIM, the Pastors and Elders who have been an inspiration to me, most of all I thank Jesus for restoring my life and helping me become a Christian.

I was saved on Febuary 22nd 2006 and Baptized on October 8th 2006

I Have Done It!!!

I have been baptized !!! All day I was wound up and nervous, about giving my Testimony (my life story) and being dunked. I got to the church and it was packed!!! There were 200 - 300 people. At this time my nerves kicked in and I began to panic until... (I can’t believe I’m being so open I must really like her) I saw her, sat at the sound deck, she looked amazing, not only could I see the pure beauty in her eyes I saw Jesus shining within her. So I walked up and gave her some chocolate which I got from Belgium (wow me giving chocolate away I must REALLY like her) and her smile gave me the courage to stop myself running at the church with fear (I just wish I could talk to her properly, I just get so nervous and I really want to talk to her). The service was wonderful, there where 11 other lovely people being baptized and they all gave there testimony and where washed with the waters of baptism. The strangest part was when you come out of the water, suddenly so much warmth and love burst’s out of you, everyone looked so peaceful and happy but most of all you could feel the lord. I felt God’s present as I was giving my testimony, singing, being baptised and just talking to people as I could feel his presence in them. Most of all I thank the lord for getting me, my mum and Chris through it as a family, also my friend and brother Frank. Frank is 78 years old and one of the biggest inspirations in my life. He has been through so much but at the end of his journey as he said; he has made the longest and hardest journey in a Christian’s life, from his head to his heart. Yes it took him 78 years but as he said ‘you’re never too old to find Jesus’. So I just thank everyone for praying for me and Jesus for blessing me and all that where there tonight, by allowing us to make our public declaration of our faith.

If you have any questions about baptism email me at: jakedude16@hotmail.com (also I wish "someone" would email me because I would love it!!!) Also on the internet look out for petition's to ban pornography, I typed in the simplest words into a search engine and got all sorts of descusting filth. Even putting in Disney, Simpsons and Futarama and you end up with filthy cartoon porn. So please put a stop to it by singning the petition's, just think of young children that might see porn on somethng like youtube or vidilife.

Can You Imagine Heaven???

Now if your a Christian you will know people have so many different view's of what heaven looks like. You have the typical clouds with Angels and beautiful rosy cheeked women (like a certain goergess girl from my church, who now thank's to my my step-dad Chris, knows that I knit...dont ask...) singing and dancing. Some people imagine like a huge garden full of amazing flowers and stunning waterfalls as the word of the lord flows graciously, touching the heart of those listening. Some can't imagine the veiw of glorious heaven, or some can only vision a bright light. Me personaly, imagine a mixture, the entrance clouds filled with Angels singing and lights so bright you cant help but look in awe at the shinning light of christ. Then the garden full of god's people, flowers, waterfalls, hills and most of all his word almost seeming part of the air that you breathe. All of this leading to the throne room where Christ is seated next to his farther and sorounded by those who follow his word. Saying all of this it could be completely different, whats your veiw???

Here's one of the Jesus' parables, it is a simple, well known explanation of what heaven is: (NKJ) Matthew 13, 31-32: Another parable he put forth to them: "The kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and rest in its branches"

UCB: Kodak Christians

'YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER...AND YOU WILL BE MY WITNESSES IN JERUSALEM,
AND IN ALL JUDEA AND SAMARIA, AND TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.'
ACTS 1:8 NIV

It's possible to be so committed to preserving what's good from the past and enjoying what's
good in the present that we are blind, or resistent, to what God has for us next. Jerusalem was an
exciting place to be:'All the believers met together constantly and shared everything with each other,
selling ther possessions and dividing with those in need. They worshipped together regulary...
met in small groups in homes to break bread, and shared their meals with great joy...The whole
city was favourable to them' (Acts 2:44-47 TLB). Now there's just one problem; nobody wants to
leave jerusalem and carry the message to judea, samaria, and the ends of the earth. Life is too
good. So how does God get us out of our comfort zone to fulfil His purposes? Clearly, just telling us
won't do it. The answer is persecution! And it's an idea we don't like because we tend to be kodak
Christians. Remember the famous Kodak Camera ad? 'Freeze the moment!' Here's how God deal's
with kodak Christians:'...there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem;
and they were all scatterd abroad throughout the regions of Judea and samaria...they that were
scattered...went every where preaching the word' (see Acts 8:1&4 KJV). Here's a thought: God
could be permitting the tough time you're going through to: a) dig you out of your rut b) get you out
of neutral and moving toward what he has for you next. Bottom line: staying in Jerusalem too long is
bad for you.

Any Christians Out There???

Any Christians Out There???

Just wondering if there are any Christians using blogger, if there is leave a comment and tell me about your faith. I have just been born again (refound my faith) and was just wondering if theres anyone out there that has had a experience like mine. My experience was that a preacher said a passage that hit me (Joel 2:25), at first I put it to the back of my mind but that night I had six dreams about it, the following day six different people mentiond it and then that night I had a further six dreams so I began to think about it. I went to 2 differnet churches a Anglican and Pentecostal. Even though I love Anglican preaching I just get more of a experience from the Pentecostal ways. So if theres anyone out there who wants to share there faith, even if your not Christian it would be nice to hear from other religions.

God-Bless Jake.
